Our Community Service
The Rotary Club of College Park prides itself on the amount of assistance we provide to the College Park community.
This year, we are on schedule to continue the support we provide through donations and/or support to:
- Adopt a Highway – Quarterly Rotarians collect debris and trash along Edgewater Dive from Par Street to Lee Road. Members of the Interact Club of Edgewater High School assist in this project.
- Christian Service Center for Central Florida – We make a financial contribution to support the Christian Service Center’s mission to be the Comprehensive Day Services Center to assist clients to become healthy, Hired and housed.
- One Heart for Women and Children – We make a financial contribution to support this local organization dedicated to assisting families in time of crises.
- Second Harvest Food Bank – We support the area’s major agency by contributions and volunteer assistance in packing food for families in need.
- Interact Club of Edgewater High School – We sponsor the Interact Club providing leadership training and service opportunities to over 80 Edgewater students each year.
- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards – RYLA is Rotary’s leadership training program for young people which focuses on leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.
- Student of the Month – We sponsor a monthly Student of the Month award for students at four College Park schools – College Park Middle School, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School, Edgewater High School, and Bishop Moore Catholic High School.
- Four-Way Test Scholarships – We provide scholarships for seniors at Edgewater High School and Bishop Moore Catholic High School for students who write the best essay about the impact of Rotary’s Four Way test in their lives.
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – We provide funding for over 700 children from ZIP codes 32804, 32805, 32808, and 32810 to participate in the program providing an age-appropriate book each month from birth to age five at no cost to the families.
- Ronald McDonald House – Initially, the club committed to sponsor a bedroom at the planned Ronald McDonald House at Florida Hospital (now AdventHealth Orlando). That commitment grew to annual support of the program
